A month of intensive training has flown by. It feels like only yesterday we held the opening ceremony – and just recently, we celebrated the latest graduation of the VAP Polygraph Examiner Course at the Center for Expert Polygraph Examinations led by Tetiana Morozova.

We’d like to remind you that the Tetiana Morozova Center for Expert Examinations is an officially accredited school for polygraph examiner training, certified by the Scientific and Methodological Council of the All-Ukrainian Association of Polygraph Examiners (VAP). To obtain this accreditation, a school must meet the following requirements:
1. Educational Basis: The training must be conducted within a state university of the 4th level of accreditation, using a university-approved curriculum and issuing government-standard certificates to graduates.
2. Use of Approved Materials Only: All educational materials – textbooks, monographs, and methodological manuals – must be officially available in academic libraries of Ukraine. The use of self-published materials or plagiarized content in VAP-accredited courses is strictly prohibited.
3. Structured Learning Format: The program must include full-fledged lectures and practical sessions lasting at least 4.5 hours per day (3 academic blocks). During these sessions, students must have the opportunity to interact with instructors and fellow students, ask questions, and receive real-time answers.
4. Hands-on Polygraph Practice: Students must gain hands-on experience with polygraph devices compliant with national standard DSTU 8692:2016 – either “Rubicon” (with Ukrainian Rubicon software) or “Axciton”. Training on the Russian “Sheriff” software is strictly prohibited, as it is banned for use in the public sector, law enforcement, defense, and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.
Our training experience shows that developing sufficient skills with polygraph equipment requires at least 7 full training days, including mandatory homework – recorded polygraph sessions reviewed by the instructor.
5. Test Questionnaire Writing: Students must learn how to compose test questionnaires in accordance with officially approved, scientifically validated polygraph examination methods that comply with DSTU 9266:2023.

Our extensive experience shows that high-quality training requires each student to write at least 9 test questionnaires across various investigative areas, all subject to instructor review.

Our latest group of students was trained in full compliance with these standards. Each graduate brought a unique story and motivation for entering the polygraph profession. Interestingly, these motivations often vary significantly. Some chose this path after hearing inspiring success stories about polygraph use in internal investigations, crime-solving, and personnel screening. Others, conversely, were motivated by witnessing unprofessional and irresponsible behavior by “fast-track” examiners who issue “verdicts” in just 30–40 minutes – “polygraph operators” who blame their poorly conducted exams on the equipment or methodology, instead of taking personal responsibility for their analysis and test construction.
Regardless of their reasons, what unites every group of VAP polygraph examiner trainees is the desire to become true professionals – not profiteers or button-pushers who memorize a few standard tests and keystrokes – but capable experts who can independently handle complex tasks in every area of the field.
All graduates of this course have decided to join VAP and be listed in the register of Ukraine’s largest, most transparent, and most professional community of polygraph examiners.
We sincerely congratulate the graduates of the polygraph examiner course and welcome the newest members of the All-Ukrainian Association of Polygraph Examiners to our fascinating and valuable profession!
