We invite you to take part in the panel discussion as part of the IX Kharkiv International Legal Forum, titled “MODERN EXPERIENCE OF USING THE POLYGRAPH IN THE FIELD OF NATIONAL SECURITY AND DEFENSE OF UKRAINE UNDER CONDITIONS OF MILITARY THREATS,”
which will take place on September 26, 2025 from 10:00 to 14:00 in a hybrid format with simultaneous online broadcasting via Zoom, held in Kharkiv at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. To participate in the event, you need to register on the website of the IX Kharkiv International Legal Forum. Participation in offline (in-person) format should be coordinated in advance with the contact person indicated in this information letter.

European and Ukrainian experience in using the polygraph within Ukraine’s national security and defense system.
Problems of using the polygraph in detecting and investigating crimes against the foundations of Ukraine’s national security.

Genesis and scientific prerequisites for the application of the polygraph in protecting national statehood and in the activities of law enforcement agencies.

– Submit the abstracts to the email forumforensicscience@ukr.net. If you also wish to give a presentation, please indicate this in your email to the Organizing Committee. The file name should include the participant’s last name and first name (for example, “Osadchuk Oleksandr_theses”);
– Fill out the participant questionnaire in a Google Form and register on the website of the IX Kharkiv International Legal Forum (Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University) at the link:

Prohibition on the Use of the Occupying Country’s Scientific Works: We draw authors’ attention to the fact that theses are accepted exclusively in Ukrainian and English! It is forbidden to cite in the text any works published in Russian in any country, as well as any sources in other languages if they were published in the territory of Russia or Belarus.

REQUIREMENTS FOR FORMATTING ABSTRACTS AND REPORTS:
1. Length: up to 6 pages of A4 format in Microsoft Word (file extension *.doc or .docx). Font – Times New Roman, size – 14; line spacing – 1.5; first line indent – 1.25 cm; margins – 20 mm (2 cm).
2. Order of elements in the thesis (report/communication): author’s last name and initials (e.g., Osadchuk O.M.) – bold; academic degree, academic title, position, institution, city – italic; title of the article – UPPERCASE, bold; text.
3. References in text: should be given in square brackets (for example, [1, p. 25]).
4. Reference list: provided at the end of the abstracts text, formatted according to DSTU 8302:2015 requirements.
5. A collection of abstracts/reports is planned to be published based on the results of the panel discussion. The author is responsible for the scientific content and structure of the submitted material.
Participation in the forum’s panel discussion and publication is free of charge.
Important: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts that do not meet the requirements or that are sent after the submission deadline.

PERSPECTIVES OF USING THE POLYGRAPH
IN THE SECURITY AND DEFENSE SECTOR OF UKRAINE
In modern realities, the use of the polygraph in the security and defense sector of Ukraine under wartime conditions is promising. The polygraph can be used for screening candidates for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Security Service, and other structures involved in security and defense.
